ABOUT

Every one of us has been on our own unique and colourful journey to arrive at today. This may or may not have included various life events, good and bad choices, paralysis to change due to fear, the full spectrum of emotions, and the list goes on.

My journey has been all this and more, which has led me to feel embodied and confident in working with people on their health and all of the “stuff”that comes with it.

When it comes to the blockers and challenges we all may face in relation to health and wellbeing, believe me, I know, because I have been there.

We’ve all been there.

I left home for University at the age of 17 and was introduced to a diet of peanut butter and jam on toast, alcohol, little sleep and no exercise.  Classic university student diet right?! This was a recipe for disaster!  Skinny genes can only take you so far before the skinny jeans start popping!!!

After two years of living this way, I felt so uncomfortable in my body, my hormones were all over the place and my skin was far from flawless! I didn’t like the person I had become.

You know that feeling when you’ve let your health slide and you don’t know or even like that person staring back at you in the mirror?

TRUE health is NOT about eating less and exercising more! I had to learn this the hard way

I knew things had to change and I did the only thing I knew how… exercise a lot and eat less. That’s what we were always told to do, right? Cut calories and exercise more. Exert more than you consume. I took things too far.

My exercise became too intense and my diet too restrictive. Balance was not a word in my vocabulary.  I was burning the candle at both ends. I was so caught up in my routine and in my head. I chose to ignore the signs my struggling body was giving me.

No periods, numerous running injuries, always tired. I was unconscious to my tiny voice, until I was told that I wouldn’t be able to have a baby unless I slowed down.  Say WHAT?? My so-called healthy habits may actually prevent me from having a family?

This shocked me into action and thankfully was my catalyst for change. I invited more balance into my life and slowly reconnected to my tiny voice. My body recovered and I was blessed with a healthy pregnancy.

My desire for a family forced me to stop and listen

My world shattered when my beautiful friend passed away suddenly from bowel cancer

When I was 6 months pregnant, another life-changing event happened. One of my best friends was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer at the age of 35 and passed away three months later.  I couldn’t understand how this could happen to someone who was young and “healthy”.

Was there something that she could have done to prevent this?
Was her body trying to tell her something that she was unable to hear?
I had a quest for knowledge and understanding – to try and make sense of the unexplainable.

Were there signs that we all missed?

I had to understand HOW and WHY this happened?

My friends passing was a devastating wake up call. That nagging feeling that there was more to being “healthy” overpowered me. This search for knowledge led me to enrolling and completing the Institute of Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching diploma in 2018 and the Level 1 and 2 Integrative Health Practitioner certifications in 2019.

I have been coaching since March 2019 and love connecting deeply with my clients and supporting them in reaching their health goals.

I work with each woman’s unique circumstances, challenges and health ambitions and provide them with the advice, tools, structure and support to empower them to take charge of their health in a sustainable and informed way.
